North Star Park
Mercer Island, Washington
Obtained: 1926 Purchased in 1926, North Star Park is a focal point of educational and recreational activities. Located on the east side of Mercer Island, the seven acre wooded park enjoys 170 feet of waterfront on beautiful Lake Washington. In the early years, access to the island was by ferry, and later bridges made travel easier. Today, the park is open for use from the last week in April through the first week in October, and is maintained by North Star Council members through organized work parties under the supervision of the Park Committee. Facilities include a rustic "Pavilion" with kitchen and hall, beach dressing rooms and a large picnic area. A protected swimming beach, dock, sport court, children's playground and campfire area provide activities for both children and adults. Please Note: All properties are owned and/or operated by Member Units of IOGT-USA. |
